Have had delivery from this restaurant for over 20 years and quality always good.
Just ordered take-out peanut chicken and cantonese lo-mein, very disappointing the stuff was oily and not tasty. also charged extra $2.50 delivery charge for being 2 mins. west of yonge, so order came to about $22 for two horrible tasting dishes and 3 pieces of cold chicken wings (these were free if you order over $15). will not order from them again and urge everyone to avoid.
food was over cooked oily and bland never order again have had better chinese food cooked by my 10 yr old nephew
Just ordered take-out. Food was deplorable. Noodles over cooked. Vegetables in several of our dishes were bad/rotting. Took food back to complain, showed them bad vegetables and they did nothing about it. Didn't offer to replace my dish even though, I WENT OUT OF MY WAY to go back and complain.
Will never order from there again.

I too have been ordering from Don Mills Garden on Lawrence for 5-6 years. It has always been consistently ok and reasonable prices...nothing really special. But my order tonight on Jan 2, 2011, was terrible...the General Tso chicken must have been demoted to Private. In short, this was not General Tso chicken my family attempted to eat tonight. The remains are in the green bin. The rest? Lukewarm and extra greasy. Must have amateurs working the kitchen during the holidays. Big waste of $42. Their flyers/menus are now in the blue box. No more ordering from this place.
I ordered the # 2 combo platter. The styrofoam container was melted and got sauce all over the bag. The rice tasted burnt and the chickenballs were like rocks. I threw up shortly after eating their food. Why is it so hard to find a good Chinese food place in Toronto!?
since the change of ownership about two years ago the food is barely edible.
We ordered about once a Month for many years before that for good Canadian Chinese.
After a couple of attempts with the new owners, never again
ill never order from the garden restaurant again.they have the worst customer service and are rude on the phone. they charge alot for big dishes yet the food quality is so little. they stuff alot of there dishes with too much onion.can you please get someone who actually understands and speaks english lady on the phone was yelling in chinese.all i wanted to do was complain but they had no interested to make it up to me as a paying customer :S

The worst Chinese food I've ever had! Never Again, lowest grade chicken, 99% celery... Even the spring rolls were horrible...

So imagine my surprise when i ordered again on 08/21/2013.
To begin I did not discover that i had not recevied what I ordered until we opened up the boxes to start eating,.
So, we just decided to go ahead with what we got.:VERY BIG MISTAKE:
The food was horrible-worst food I have ever tasted.
So, I called to compalin this morning and to add insult to injury the woman that I spoke with was so rude,I will never order from them again.
Rude, rude, rude. She wanted to charge extra for lemon wedge on dry ribs. She said, "NO FREE LUNCH!" Like Seinfeld's soup nazi. Obviously they don't respect their customers. They lost me!
